Charles Phillips is an independent researcher, consultant and project manager. He holds a Master’s degree in Modern Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Oxford.

He has travelled and worked extensively across the Middle East and Africa, with a particular focus on Saudi Arabia.

His areas of expertise include climate change and sustainability policy in the Arab Gulf States. He is also a specialist in Saudi Arabia’s giga projects and the country’s emerging tourism and heritage sectors. In 2023 he spent 4 months travelling across Saudi Arabia to document ancient heritage sites and see the latest giga project developments first-hand.

He has an excellent network in the Kingdom spanning the country’s major projects and biggest companies. His experience includes project management, communications & content creation, leading research projects, and public speaking.
